Manju Malasi elected CPN-UML Doti chairperson

Doti: Manju Malasi has been elected as the chairperson of the CPN-UML Doti. In the election held on Monday, she defeated Sher Bahadur Malla by a margin of 44 votes.

Out of 412 votes cast, Malasi secured 215 votes, while Malla received 171 votes. Malasi is considered close to CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal, whereas Malla is known as a close ally of KP Oli.

Similarly, Khagendra Badaila won the post of vice-chairperson, securing 111 votes. His competitors Ganesh Bista received 107 votes, Laxman Malasi 97 votes, and Chakra Bahadur Gharti 58 votes.

From the Malasi panel, Padam Bahadur Bhatta was elected as secretary with 237 votes. His closest competitor, Dhan Bahadur Nepali, received 119 votes, while Jhalak Pali managed 68 votes. For the Deputy Secretary (Open) position, Malasi panel’s Dammar Daudi secured victory with 152 votes. Malla panel's Bam Bahadur Bam garnered 123 votes, followed by Krishna Kumar Khadka with 67 votes and Krishna Darlami with 34 votes.

Bishna Singh, also from the Malasi panel, won the Deputy Secretary (Inclusive) post with 208 votes, defeating her opponent Sasi Sop, who received 146 votes.

Overall, the Malasi panel claimed victories for the posts of President, Deputy Secretary (Open), and Deputy Secretary (Inclusive), while a Malla panel candidate secured the Secretary position.
