Chisapani-Gaddachawki road section to be upgraded to six lanes: Foreign minister Deuba

Lamki: Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has announced that work will soon commence to expand the Chisapani-Gaddachawki road section of the East-West Mahendra Highway into a six-lane roadway.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed administrative building of Lamkichuha Municipality in Kailali, Minister Deuba stated that a survey is currently underway to facilitate the expansion, considering the increasing traffic volume. She remarked, "Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah is actively taking the initiative for this project. The highway survey is in progress, and construction will begin soon."

Minister Deuba expressed optimism that the new municipal administrative building would enhance service delivery for the residents of Lamkichuha. She also emphasized the government’s commitment to the development of the agricultural sector in the region and expressed appreciation for the ongoing local-level infrastructure projects.

During her visit to Kailali, Minister Deuba also inaugurated the newly constructed party office of Nepali Congress Kailali Constituency No. 2 and the Lamkichuha Municipal Committee’s BP Smriti Bhawan.
