CWC Attariya clinches Arjun Trophy title

Dhangadhi: CWC Attariya has emerged victorious in the Arjun Trophy National Cricket Tournament, defeating Friends Club Dadeldhura by 34 runs in the final held at Fapla Ground, Dhangadhi, on Monday.

With the championship win, Attariya claimed a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, while Dadeldhura settled for Rs 5 lakh as the runner-up. CWC Attariya is also the reigning champion of the Dhangadhi Premier League-3.

Chasing a target of 119 runs, Dadeldhura was bowled out for 84 runs in 18 overs. Gajendra Bohara (24), Kushal Bhurtel (20), and Ashok Dhami (11) were the only Dadeldhura players to reach double digits. Attariya’s Shahav Alam and Dipesh Kadel took three wickets each, while Kamal Gupta and Vivek Yadav claimed two wickets apiece.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, Attariya posted 118 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Rashid Khan top-scored with 31 runs, while Santosh Karki and Shankar Rana contributed 20 runs each. Sandeep Chhetri (12), Vivek Yadav (11), and Bhim Sarki (10) also made valuable contributions. For Dadeldhura, Abhishek Gautam was the standout bowler, taking four wickets, while Ajay Chauhan and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each. Additionally, three Attariya players were dismissed via run-outs.

Attariya remained undefeated throughout the tournament, securing the championship title. The best player of the tournament will receive Rs 100,000, while the best batsman, best bowler, and emerging player will be awarded Rs 50,000 each, as per the tournament organizer Go Dreamers.
