Stricter Traffic enforcement in Darchula: Action taken against 77 drivers
Dhangadhi: Authorities in Darchula have intensified actions against drivers violating passenger and vehicle capacity regulations.
The District Police Office and the District Traffic Police Office have been conducting daily checks and penalizing drivers who exceed passenger limits, in accordance with Section 164 of the Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 2049 BS. This effort includes action against drivers of vehicles such as jeep number 04001 Ja 005 in Sudurpaschim Province.
On Mangsir 20 alone, 17 drivers were fined for carrying passengers beyond capacity. Additionally, 12 drivers were penalized the same day for both exceeding capacity and lacking required documents. In the past week, actions taken include. Mangsir 11, 8 drivers penalized. Mangsir 12, 13 drivers penalized. Mangsir 13, 11 drivers penalized. Mangsir 14, 9 drivers penalized. Mangsir 16, 9 drivers penalized. Mangsir 18, 6 drivers penalized. In total, 77 drivers have been fined over nine days. Enhanced traffic inspections have extended to vehicles covering both short and long distances, including motorcycles and auto-rickshaws. The District Police Office emphasized the importance of adherence to traffic rules and pledged to continue rigorous monitoring to ensure passenger safety and compliance.
