Sudurpaschim Royals secure spot in NPL final with an 8-wicket victory
Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Royals have advanced to the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) after a commanding 8-wicket victory over Janakpur Bolts. A stellar half-century from Binod Bhandari was instrumental in the Royals’ win.
Chasing a target of 140 runs set by Janakpur, Sudurpaschim achieved 141 runs in 18.3 overs, losing just two wickets. Binod Bhandari remained unbeaten on 58, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes in his 55-ball knock.
Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee contributed an unbeaten 20 runs off 16 balls, including a match-winning four. Janakpur’s bowlers Lalit Rajbanshi and Kishore Mahato managed to take one wicket each.
Earlier, Janakpur Bolts, batting first after winning the toss, scored 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Jimmy Neesham was the top scorer for Janakpur, making 45 runs off 23 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
