Lucky Chaudhary elected President of FONIJ, Lakhan Chaudhary unopposed as Sudurpaschim province in-charge

Dhangadhi: Lucky Chaudhary has been elected as the president of the Nepal Indigenous Journalists Association (FONIJ), while Lakhan Chaudhary has been elected unopposed as the in-charge of Sudurpaschim Province.

Although several office bearers, including the president, were elected unopposed, some positions such as open central members were filled through elections. During the federal convention held in Lumbini, Rupandehi, Saru Rana was unanimously elected as senior vice-president, and Anjana Silpakar as women’s vice-president. Samir Balami was elected as general secretary, and Lila Darai as minority secretary.

Similarly, Bishwaraj Tamang was elected as open vice-president, Arjun Tamang as treasurer, and Milan Gaha, MB Magar, and Sandeep Shrestha as three secretaries. Maya Palung was elected as women’s secretary. There was competition among eight candidates for the secretary posts.

Newly elected secretary Milan Gaha informed that a 49-member working committee, including 15 office bearers, has been elected.
