Malikarjun rural municipality begins monthly salary payments for teachers and school staff

Darchula: Malikarjun Rural Municipality in Darchula has commenced the payment of salaries and allowances to teachers and school employees on a monthly basis.

The rural municipality has started disbursing the salaries of community school teachers and school employees through the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system since the month of Magh. According to Rural Municipality Chair Hirasingh Dhami, this move follows the ministerial decision sent to the local level by the government and the Ministry of Policy and Programs and Education of Malikarjun Rural Municipality on Mangsir 17. The monthly salaries have been directly deposited into the teachers' accounts.

Previously, salaries and allowances were distributed quarterly. Now, the rural municipality will pay salaries and allowances monthly, similar to the payment system for civil servants and other employees. There are currently 332 teachers and employees working in 38 community schools within Malikarjun Rural Municipality.
