Prime Minister Oli departs for Kathmandu after official visit to Thailand and BIMSTEC summit

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has departed for home today after completing an official visit to Thailand and participating in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Prime Minister Oli left for Kathmandu this morning at 10:15 local time. He was seen off at the VIP lounge of Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of Thailand, Suriya Juangroongruangkit.
Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli and Thai Ambassador to Nepal Suwapong Sirisorn were also present at the airport to bid farewell to Prime Minister Oli. He is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu at 12:30 pm today.


This visit marks the first-ever official visit by a Nepali Prime Minister to Thailand. Prime Minister Oli traveled to Thailand at the friendly invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Prime Minister Oli’s delegation included First Lady Radhika Shakya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.
