Baitadi youth reported missing in Malaysia

Baitadi: A 28-year-old youth from Baitadi, Minsingh Thagunna, has been reported missing in Malaysia.

Thagunna, a resident of Kotigaun, Melauli Municipality-8, had been working in Malaysia for the past 10 years and was employed at Ramatex Company. According to his father, Bahadur Singh Thagunna, he has been out of contact since Falgun 13.

Relatives stated that Thagunna sustained a head injury while working in his room and went missing four to five days after the incident. A fellow Nepali worker, who shared a room with him, informed the family that Thagunna became mentally unstable after the injury and suddenly ran away, leaving his mobile phone behind.

The company has reported his disappearance to the police and confirmed that he has also vacated his room. In response, Ward Chair Tapendra Singh Bista stated that Melauli Municipality Ward No. 8 has formally requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take necessary steps in locating the missing Thagunna.

Additionally, the secretariat of Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has sent an official request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify search efforts for the missing youth.
