Democracy has no alternative, says Home Minister Lekhak

Dadeldhura: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has emphasized that there is no alternative to democracy and ruled out any possibility of a return to monarchy.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 'Parshuram Literature Festival' in Parshuram Municipality, Dadeldhura, on Thursday, Minister Lekhak stated that democracy is the only way forward.

"A republic has been established in the country, and while some voices advocate for the restoration of monarchy, there is no possibility of reverting to it within a democratic system. We have reached this stage through great sacrifice and struggle, and we must move forward, not backward," he asserted.

He further highlighted the role of literature in societal transformation, stating that literature has played a significant role in global progress, revolution, and change. He reaffirmed that society and science will continue to evolve and never regress.
