Doctor attacked at Seti provincial hospital; One arrested

Dhangadhi: A doctor at Seti Provincial Hospital was attacked early Monday morning, leading to the arrest of the assailant.

According to police reports, Dr. Bed Prakash Bhatta was assaulted at around 4 AM by Krishna Rana (24) of Kuruwa, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-13. Rana is the son of Ramatar Rana, a patient admitted to the ICU due to a blood pressure-related illness.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabindra Singh Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kailali, confirmed that Rana attacked Dr. Bhatta as he was leaving the ICU after a check-up. The doctor sustained facial injuries, and his glasses were broken in the assault.

Authorities have stated that the suspect is believed to be mentally unwell. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
