Man arrested in Kanchanpur for facilitating polygamy by posing as a fake father

Kanchanpur: A man has been arrested in Kanchanpur on charges of facilitating polygamy by impersonating a fake father.

According to Umesh Raj Joshi, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, 42-year-old Bir Bahadur Air of Amargadhi Municipality-3, Dadeldhura, has been taken into custody.

Air is accused of assisting in arranging a polygamous marriage by pretending to be the father of 32-year-old Bishnu Prasad Mali of Bhageshwor Rural Municipality-4, Dadeldhura. Mali allegedly deceived a 31-year-old woman into marrying him.

The police have already arrested Mali and another accomplice, Janak Bahadur Dhami of Bedkot Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, in connection with the case.
